Good House is committed to the Shire of Mornington Peninsula Short Stay Rental Accommodation Local Law.

Good House Holiday Rentals welcomes the introduction this Law which will enhance the Mornington Peninsula as a destination of choice.

Over 1.6 million people stay overnight when visiting the Peninsula each year, making it the third largest short stay rental accommodation destination in Australia. The Mornington Peninsula Shire Council welcomes greater numbers of visitors to the region, but must also ensure that the local communities continue to enjoy the benefits the area has to offer.

In May 2018, Council adopted the Short Stay Rental Accommodation Local Law, providing clear guidelines on the required standards for the operation of this type of accommodation.

What does the Law cover?

For property owners, the Law details their obligations and responsibility, including registration of the property with the Shire, rubbish removal arrangements and guest conduct whilst at the property, plus a range of other measures. Good House Holiday Rentals represents all our owners to ensure that all aspects of the Law is not breached by anyone.

For guests, the Code of Conduct includes items such as all outdoor activity must cease at 10pm and move indoors and all cars must be parked on the property site. These are just a couple of examples of the rules guests are expected to adhere to.

Good House Holiday Rentals is compliant with the Peninsula Short Stay Accomodation Local Law. We will strive to ensure our wonderful owners and amazing guests understand the importance of this Law and the accompanying Code of Conduct.
