Welcome to Dalmuir Homestead, a spacious and gracious 1930s property, that oozes olde world charm and delightful quirky touches. Dalmuir will remind you of a simpler time, when home comforts and charm with family was what a holiday was all about. This lovely fuss free timber home is welcoming from the moment you step inside, whilst from the front wrap round verandah, you can enjoy gorgeous vistas of the sand and sparkling water of Dromana Beach just beyond.
If excellent beach location is your no.1 want when planning your beach escape, then Dalmuir definitely ticks the box. The street is off Point Nepean Rd and the house is only a 50m stroll before you're on the sand of Dromana beach. Early morning beach dips or evening strolls in search of icecream up the street, are all easy options when the beach and Dromana shops are so easily reached. Bonus is the large park across the road with plenty of gas BBQs and a kids playground.
Dalmuir offers 3 bedrooms in the main house, 1 x queen + 1 x single, 1 x queen + 2 x singles, and 1 x queen. It accommodates up to 8 people. The main kitchen/lounge/dining area has vaulted ceilings and an airy feel with ample room for everyone to find a spot, sit back and relax. The lounge has big comfy couches and armchairs as well as with a TV and DVD player. Loads of books and board games plus children's toys are available to keep everyone entertained on those quieter days. Lovely period pieces add to the feeling of a bygone era. Open the lounge doors to the outdoor verandah, and let the sunshine and sea air in.
The wide front timber verandah, has lots of seating, be it around the outdoor table or one of the cushioned wicker chairs. Sit outside with a good book and a pot of tea and while away the day in perfect tranquility.
The much loved kitchen is of its era but has all the basic amenities and cooking gear for easy meal time preparation. Sit around grandma's table and indulge in mealtime conversation with your nearest and dearest or maybe a board game late into the night. Other welcomed amenities located in the main lounge, are a split system, gas heater and ceiling fan.
The property also offers a separate bungalow out the back with 1 x double + 1 x single bunks + 1 x single bed, so another 5 can sleep here. The bungalow would suit teenagers who want their own space. Guests can use the small kitchenette and table as well. The bungalow is available for an additional fee but please note, unlike the main house beds, NO linen is not provided for bungalow beds.
Dalmuir has a large grassed back yard and is perfect for kids to run around in, or for a game of cricket. But if lazy days at the beach is your thing, then Dalmuir offers unparalleled access. Oh and a cute beach box equipped with some fun beach toys, chairs and beach umbrella is also available to rent. You can store your own beach gear in there for the duration of your stay.
Please note Dalmuir Homestead is a registered Short Stay Accommodation property and all guests are required to abide by with Mornington Peninsula Shire Short Stay Accommodation Code of Conduct. Details of the Code will be made available to guests after booking and a copy is available at the house.

What you see is what you get, and Dalmuir remains deliberately untouched and is definitely not a cookie cutter property. Yes some wallpaper is peeling, some paint has faded, but this doesn't detract from the gorgeousness of Dalmuir Homestead. It is steeped in family history and generations have enjoyed the pleasure it offers.

Hi, my name is Loretta and I am the face behind Good House Holiday Rentals.
As your host I am more than happy to answer all your questions on the properties I manage. My unique management service is backed by a network of locals, which ensures properties are perfectly prepared and guests are comfortable and more importantly have a wonderful stay.
When I'm not working, I get to spend time with my 2 active gorgeous boys, and with my terrific hubbie we too love to travel as much as we can. Actually it's due to our past experiences as Airbnb guests in Australia and overseas, that my management service started. We tried Airbnb and loved the concept and so

I am a born and bred Melbournian of Italian (Website hidden by Airbnb) of course I love all things Italian....language, food and culture.
